Playground, Parkway, and Sports Courts Improvements with Seattle Parks and Recreation

The park area used by Alki Elementary School for arrival, community gathering, and play will be improved as part of the school construction project.

Scope

Improvements will be made to the playground, parkway, and sport court, which are owned by the City of Seattle and operated/managed by Seattle Parks and Recreation (Parks) as part of the Alki Playground and Fields.

Open House

Thank you to everyone who shared ideas for the renovation of the playground at the Alki Community Celebration this summer. Now we’d like to share how your design ideas were incorporated in the playground concepts and get your feedback.

Please join Seattle Parks and Recreation and Seattle Public Schools for a community Open House to share design updates for the Alki Playground.

• Time: 4 to 6 p.m.

At the open house, you can talk to the design team, review the proposed layout for the play area, and vote for your preferred play equipment options.

Construction

Construction of the improvements will be complete in early to mid-2026 before the start of school in September.
